Elbaz

Born in Casablanca, Morocco, he moved to Israel with his family at the age of 10.

He has deep affection for Casablanca, and his 2015 autumn series for Lanvin has a distinctive Morocco color.

He said, "I love this country."

In 1996, Elbaz moved to Paris and worked for Guy Laroche.

In 1998, Yves SaintLaurent co-founder Pierre Berg e invited Elbaz to join YSL to take charge of RiveGauche series design.

After working for YSL for a month, he found he had nothing to do because SaintLaurent had done everything.

"I told the shrink at the time that I was depressed, and so did SaintLaurent.

The doctor asked me if I was jealous of others, and I said no, I was jealous of those who were desperate to eat without losing weight.

"I understand Saint Laurent, his creation, everything he does, and I know his clients.

So when I was fired, I felt like a lost widow.

In 1999, YSL was bought by Gucci. At this point, Tom Ford publicly expressed its wish to design YSL Rive Gauche series.

In the same year, TomFord replaced AlberElbaz as the creative director of YSL.

"At that time, I began to wonder if I was not fit for fashion. I even considered being a doctor, but I was a patient myself!"

Elbaz suffered from depression, so he spent a year and a half traveling away from YSL.

When he returned to Paris, he received a call from Ms. Wang Xiaolan.

At that time, Ms. Wang Xiaolan (below) had just bought the Lanvin from the L'OREAL group, which had been in trouble for many years, and invited Elbaz to revive the brand.

Elbaz said, "I really appreciate women who control their lives.

I am willing to work with people I like and design clothes for my favorite women.

Elbaz accepted Ms. Wang Xiaolan's invitation to become Lanvin art director. It has been 14 years since 2001.

The fact that Elbaz has really inspired brand vitality has made France and even the oldest in the world.

High fashion

The brand reinvigorate its reputation.

Elbaz is believed to have started the pre-collection trend 11 years ago, and Elbaz said he was right.

New product release

The idea is actually very simple. A few small shows are enough.

"Before I came into contact with pre-collection, it was already formed, and I just inherited it.

In fact, as far as I know, the designers I know do not like to do preview. It gives people too much sense. "

Elbaz doesn't use email. "In the digital age, I like those who don't give up paper culture."

As for the impact of the digital revolution on today's society, he said: "with the recording, we no longer listen carefully; with the Internet, we are talking less and fewer; and with photography, we no longer use our eyes to see the world."

Therefore, Elbaz has created a dramatic scene in collaboration with the French painter CyrilHatt in the 2016Resort series created by Lanvin. The background wall is a painting created on the spot, which constitutes a visual trap.

This scene represents the contrast between "real" and "false", and is intended to encourage people to explore the relationship between digitalization and daily life.

AlberElbaz's interview is still appearing in a black trademark.

He said, "I work with my team and models in a small studio. In order to see everything I design, I have to stealth, so I want to wear black."

Recently, however, he decided to wear black when he needed stealth.
