Matthew Williamson: Fashion Designers Teach You How To Capture Travel Inspiration.

Same time, same location.

In my spare time, I like to spend my holidays in exotic places - the better I can be.

Every summer I go to Mykonos island in Greece and live with 10 regular friends in a fixed hotel.

It will be a quiet and clean time in mid April. After that, we will have to crazily crave for the major fashions.

My parents also came to Mykonos. I remember that they used to go to the same place every year when they were young. I thought it was boring at that time, but now I have got the taste.

Choose the best and choose carefully.

When I started writing, I regularly went to India to look for inspiration. The odd odd things in India shops gave me boundless inspiration and creativity.

So, be an eyesight minded person and pick those that can stimulate your creative desire.

I will never buy anything for "buy it back to make a dress," and don't let creativity get to the surface -- even if you really ran to Morocco for a carpet, because I did this when I was young, so in a few years, I came to my house like Camden flea market in London.

Don't rely on guidebooks.

I will never buy a travel brochure first and then visit the galleries and museums one by one.

It's up to you to rely on your own feelings, to go sightseeing, to explore a city or a place by your friends or hotel porters.

In this way, the travel traps that you often say will be insulated from you.

Spirit of adventure

I often go to several garment factories in Florence to inspect the gentlemen's boutiques. They seem to have a hundred years of history and they only serve customers over the age of 60.

Whether you want to buy a bow tie, a pair of socks or a Kashmir pullover, go to those "non tourist attractions".

The road is always full of surprises and surprises.

Artistic atmosphere

Take pictures, and a picture will leave you with a wonderful holiday time.

In addition, adding some works of art to the family, whether classic or classic, is a good choice.

A wall on my staircase is covered with paintings and photographs. It looks like my personal world tour map.

Refuse big bags

!

If it's just a weekend trip, please try to put it in light so that you can buy something back at the last place.

I have a large sleeping bag on standby at the top of my staircase, with my favorite perfume (Comme des Gar ons Avignon), a note pad and my laptop.

I admit that wearing a thick Kashmir wool pajamas is really comfortable on the plane, but I will never stuff them into my luggage for this purpose.

Favorite price

I will not bargain, or even say that I am terrible in this respect.

Every time we go to the second round at most, we lose.

If you want to buy something, if you want to buy something, pretend you don't want to buy it at all.

Many years ago, I bought a wooden print with peacock patterns in Japan. Later, peacocks became the inspiration for my fabric design.
